Breaking News: Daily Fantasy Sports Regulation Bill in CA Passes Assembly Vote

California, which just happens to be the world’s eighth largest economy, is the latest state to examine the legality of Daily Fantasy Sports.

A bill introduced by Assemblyman Adam Gray went to a committee vote in Sacramento Wednesday (January 6, 2016).  Had it failed to pass the Assembly by the end of the month, the process would then need to begin anew.

PayPal Shutting Down DraftKings, FanDuel Transactions

Following a precedent-setting decision by a Superior Judge Friday morning ordering Daily Fantasy Sports sites DraftKings and FanDuel to halt operating in New York, leading payment processing company PayPal has decided to stop permitting money transfers to and from those websites.

Mike Francesa Loses His Mind Arguing With Assemblyman Dean Murray Over DFS Bill

Radio host Mike Francesa went off on New York State Assemblyman Dean Murray for proposing legislation that would make Daily Fantasy Sports a “game of skill”.

"Why would you do that?" Francesa said. "It is not a game of skill, it's a game of chance."

A New York judge was in the process of determining just that as of Wednesday when this was being published.

This would ultimately turn into a heated back and forth between the two. 

"I know, I know, you know it all," Murray said. "You have no concept."

State lotteries looking for Daily Fantasy Sports software should look no further than Rochester, New York-based Star Fantasy Leagues.

The company, which offers Daily Fantasy Sports, primarily focuses on development of DFS white label software for other companies.  State lotteries such as the one found in Georgia, serve as a perfect target client base for the three-year-old firm.

Live Coverage on NY Hearing to Determine Fate of DraftKings, FanDuel

Throughout the years, Gambling911.com has been live at court hearings involving the gambling industry.  On Wednesday November 25, 2015 we were present covering a hearing to determine the operating status of Daily Fantasy Sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel in the state of New York.

FanDuel Going After New York Attorney General Hard: Nets Back Company

76ers End Partnership Deal With PartyPoker Amidst DFS Scandal

The Philadelphia 76ers have cut their ties with PartyPoker following a scandal that erupted two weeks ago within the Daily Fantasy Sports sector. 

It remains to be seen whether this will cause a domino effect in the professional sports arena with many of the franchises entered into partnerships with DFS firms DraftKings and FanDuel.

While PartyPoker does not offer a Daily Fantasy Sports platform, the sports leagues have come under fire of late for deals that seemingly embrace gambling.
